We are pleased to report that the Elder Economic Security Initiative (Initiative) is featured in the latest edition of AARP Magazine. “Living on the Edge" , by Barry Yeoman, addresses the growing number of elders who live just above the federal poverty level – but are unable to make ends meet and ineligible for many federal and state assistance programs. The Initiative’s Associate Director Stacy Sanders, and our California partner, Jenny Chung of the Insight Center for Community Economic Development, discuss the importance of having an accurate geographically-based measure, like the Elder Index, to determine what elders need to get by.
